Providing public information is an obligation of public bodies. Based on the results of the
2024 Public Information Openness Index (IKIP) held by Komisi Informasi Pusat (KIP), access
and dissemination of information indicator has a score of 77.48. Meanwhile, the
transparency indicator score is 72.18. This figure is in the moderate category and still needs
to be improved. The Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture is one of the
public bodies that is obliged to support information transparency through the production of
press releases. The study aims to analyze the process of writing press releases on the
Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture website as a public information
media. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are
carried out through interviews, observations, active participation, and literature studies.
The results of the study show that the overall management of press releases consists of pre
production, writing (production), and post-production stages. The Coordinating Ministry for
Human Development and Culture uses writing strategies, such as the inverted pyramid
technique and writing guidelines in press release production. There are challenges in
reaching a wide audience, so a strategy of adapting press releases to various media is
applied.
